Adam Froggatt [8:13 PM]
In attendance in the room - Andy, Froggy, Kate, Matt, Tom, Ali, Vikki, Dominic

[8:13]
*Announcements and Events*

[8:14]
Team Social! People who want to be in a team or are in a team can get together, have a chat and work out a plan for their spaces

[8:14]
No date yet - Kate is trying to find a good slot in the calendar

[8:14]
*Actions and Minutes of Last Meetings*

[8:14]
Ian has been recruiting 3D printer and Embroiderer machine - good responses so far, progress continues at pace

[8:15]
Workshop technician - Trustees discussed, we'd prefer to have the teams who are members taking care of it as they go rather than paying someone. You guys are cool, do the thing!

*Financials* ^

[8:16]
Thanks to Matt for his financial wizardry

[8:16]
We have £17k in the back

[8:16]
We were down £350 last month, this is light compared to previous months as we've been spending our money downstairs

[8:17]
So in this case being 'down' £350 isn't a bad thing - it means 2.5 is progressing well

[8:17]
Regularly committed outgoings - £4,900(ish)
Regular membership income - £4,100(ish)

[8:18]
Snackspace does contribute a large chunk to that gap

[8:18]
That Snackspace figure includes tool income

[8:18]
It's not broken down at the minute as that's fairly manual

[8:19]
Been down about £3k over the last three months, plus the doors at £7k

[8:19]
Side note - doors are expensive

[8:19]
this spending was expected, as it's on HS2.5 stuff

[8:20]
This does reinforce the fact that membership payments make a lot of difference - an extra couple of quid from every member would have covered the last little gap between outgoings and incoming

[8:21]
*Action Kate* - Update Membership team that our running values are more like £10-£11 an hour

[8:22]
*Team Updates*

[8:22]
*Tools Team* - Update from Andrew - pillar drill has some new parts coming in, a vertical strip

[8:23]
RS care package - Andrew is re-arranging delivery, *Trustees to sort the pickup, Trustee Andy can probably get it*

[8:24]
*Membership* - Open night attendance has been varying, but we think it's due to the season more than everything else

[8:24]
it's rather nice outside

[8:24]
If you can work on cool stuff on Wednesday please do! Makes the space look awesome and busy

[8:24]
*Safety Team* - Dominic and Michael did a safety walkround

[8:24]
Dominic has a fuller written report - this will be added to the wiki

[8:24]
*Action Dominic* - put the report on the wiki

[8:25]
Most likely danger in the space is probably fire

[8:25]
(we're an old fabric mill after all)

[8:25]
Fire preparation - We've got a lot of extinguishers, but no log of inspections of them

[8:25]
This can be done by the safety team: weighed and labelled appropriately

[8:26]
Matt Lloyd - can we do a fire extinguisher srvice contract?
Dominic - we had the same thought

[8:26]
Seems this is going to be a good idea

[8:27]
*Action Safety Team* - team to get a quote from the fire extinguisher servicers (edited)

[8:27]
Call points - needs slightly better signage, as the fire alarm is managed by Bizspace, not us

Matt Lloyd [8:27 PM]

Adam Froggatt [8:28 PM]
Team also taking a look at ideas around safety inductions/orientations

[8:28]
Lone worker alarm - It's been removed for now

[8:28]
it's not used and was spontaneously calling James Fowkes on a regular basis (sorry James)

[8:28]
After fire, lone working is the next big risk

[8:28]
If some gets hurt and can't be assisted fast, that's a problem.

[8:29]
Alarm had been used, but not activated

[8:30]
As in the tag was on a person, but the button wasn't actually needed as there was no accident

[8:30]
Eye wash station - One bottle was used and half empty, it's been disposed of

[8:31]
Safety team will be adding further eye wash stations in the space

[8:32]
Question from Dominic - do members know that the sprinkler system doesn't work, and do they care?

[8:32]
Can it present a false sense of security?

[8:32]
Good things - Fire doors were clear and accessible (thanks to the /Refresh people!)

[8:33]
Spraybooth - filter doesn't seem to have been changed, but there's spares downstairs that can be used

[8:33]
Fuller link to come soon!

[8:33]
Kate - if there's stuff that can be done, we can always find a volunteer to handle specific pieces via the #general table

[8:33]
*Hackspace 2.5*

[8:34]
We have trays but not conduit (thanks TNT)

[8:34]
Plan is to get walls painted then cable trays

[8:34]
Do you like painting? COME PAINT

[8:34]
The faster we get downstairs painted the faster it's ready!

[8:35]
We provide everything - all you need to bring is yourself and clothing you don't mind getting dirty

[8:35]
*AOB*

[8:35]
Ali - Comes in early, there's lights on and sockets switched on

[8:36]
Can we help remind people to turn off sockets and lights? For money and fire hazard

[8:37]
Some stuff shouldn't be off - snackspace and such

[8:37]
We can label these up

[8:37]
Last person out really really needs to turn off the damn lights (edited)

[8:39]
Downstairs won't have this problem - we've got fancy lights to solve that issue that can be turned off remotely

[8:39]
Dominic - do we need more one on one communication to other members?

[8:39]
Leaves a better impression to the others

[8:41]
Lights are the biggy - it's a few hundred watts across the space every hour

[8:41]
Ian - *ARDUINO WORKSHOP ON SEPTEMBER 2ND*

Alex Mann [8:41 PM]
joined #meetingminutes

Adam Froggatt [8:41 PM]
*Action Kate* - Update the calendar and website and such

[8:42]
*Meeting closed*
