August 2014 purchase of new drills for the workshop

Page is a work-in-progress, to be completed by in time for the 'launch party' on Wednesday 27th August, when the tools will all have arrived, and be ready for use.

  • Heavy Combi Drills - 2 Bosch GSB18V-LI Professional drills featuring:
    • 18V 4ampHour Lithium-Ion Coolpack battery
    • Fan cooled motor
    • 2 gearbox speeds, reversible.
    • Motor speed control through the trigger.
    • White LED work light.
    • 13mm Auto lock chuck
    • Electric brake
    • All metal gearbox
    • Hammer action (turned on and off with a ring separate from the driver torque-limit ring)
  • Handy Combi Drills - 2 Bosch GSB18-2-LI Professional drills featuring:
    • 18V 3ampHour Lithium-Ion Coolpack battery
    • Fan cooled motor
    • 2 gearbox speeds, reversible.
    • Motor speed control through the trigger.
    • 10mm Auto lock chuck
    • Electric brake
    • All metal gearbox
    • Hammer action (turned on and off with a ring separate from the driver torque-limit ring)

Fully charging a 4ampHour battery can take up to 2 hours. This is not because the chargers are slow, but because the batteries have a high capacity.

  • Drill Driver - DeWalt DCD710 featuring:
    • 10.8V 1.5ampHour Lithium-Ion battery
    • 2-Speed Variable & Reverse gearbox
    • 10mm Keyless Chuck
    • 15 Torque Settings
    • Electric Brake
  • Impact Driver - DeWalt DCF815
    • 10.8V 1.5ampHour Lithium-Ion battery
    • Single-Speed Variable & Reverse
    • ¼" Hex Tool Holder
    • 107Nm Sustained Torque
    • All-Metal Gearbox

The charger for the DeWalt Drill and Driver features battery temperature detection, and pauses charging if the battery pack is too warm or cold.
