As it says on the Electromagnetic Field site:

We're a non-profit group bringing a hacker camp (like CCC, HAR, and toorcamp) to the UK in 2012. It'll be a bit like a cross between a music festival and a conference with a wide range of talks on geeky subjects.

It's Friday, 31st August to Sunday, 2nd September at Pineham Park in Milton Keynes.

As part of the Electromagnetic Field experience, there will be villages, where like-minded people can join together.

See the Villages page on the EMFCamp Wiki

Nottingham Hackspace would like to have a village, complete with tents, people and hijinx.

Stuff we're going to NEED!

Shout up if have any of this we can use!

  • 25m extension cables - at least two, if not four. Each power connection has a 150W load limit.
  • 4 gang extensions - an infinite amount would be preferable, but I'll settle for say 10
  • Big tarpaulin / ground sheets for gazebos
  • 60m Cat5/5e cable
  • 8/16 port switch
  • lots of 2-5m patch cables
  • some longer patch cables (Do we ant wired network in our village? I'm assuming yes)
  • Food! For the BBQ
    • EMF Camp Food Shopping List
    • are we going to do a full camp cook, or just for us?
    • We (Dominic and James) think whole camp cook.
      • Reckon we'd need around £300 of food - say 150 burgers, 150 sausages, buns and sauces
        • What about cheese??
      • I can get food at around that price from my local butcher James 07:33, 14 August 2012 (EST)
      • Sell for £1.50 - £2.00 per and Hackspace makes a profit!
    • Rubbish Bins and bags!
  • Hackspace tables and chairs - which ones?
  • Dominic's soldering kit?
  • Crafty stuff - help me out Kate
  • Laser cutter
  • 3D printer
  • MicroUSB cables for camp badge
