Heading Colours

Hackspace Green

Are there any objections to the green heading as seen here?

I'm thinking about introducing the same colour on the Template:Project info box too

Support - I was thinking of suggesting something along these lines. I also thought changing the lighter gray backgrounds to white might also look good. Jon (talk) 16:54, 23 January 2019 (UTC)

Formatting Bug?

Ref this conversation: Template talk:Project#Formatting Bug? Do we have the same or similar problem here? Is it a simple case of copying in the new changes? Danspencer101 (talk)

For projects, if the image is tall the bug didn't show up (for example NoteAcceptor didn't show the bug). Is there any example where the tool infobox shows the format bug?
BTW I don't think the second 'if image|' is needed as it's within the first 'if image|' statement. Jon (talk) 12:47, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
Radial Arm Saw & Bench Pillar Drill are both a little bit weird. Danspencer101 (talk)
I guess the same fix should be used as standard then, hopefully it won't create a line under the image. Jon (talk) 14:56, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
I've implemented the same approach as used for Project. Same line under the image has appeared! It seems to have fixed the odd line spacing though. --Danspencer101 (talk) 16:10, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Defunct Parameter

I think a Defunct parameter for tools such as the YooCNC that we do not have anymore but are useful to retain the information on.

I guess it would be a Boolean variable: Defunct = "Yes" or "No". Default value would be "no". This would then automatically categorize the page into Category:Tools and Equipment (defunct). --Danspencer101 (talk) 16:29, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Sounds good, is it worth adding a defunctdate too? Jon (talk) 16:44, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

Emphasis other pages

It could be worth adding to the bottom of the infobox small strip with links to

[Tools: list * all pages * team ]

? Jon (talk) 07:53, 9 February 2019 (UTC)

Actually 'team' should probably be a separate row and parameter as some tools have separate team, for example Laser cutter. Jon (talk) 08:01, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
Could add link to template so editors could easily access parameter information       {{}}. Jon (talk) 06:12, 10 February 2019 (UTC)

Use this for PC's?

Should this be used for PC's? Are they tools?

See here for how it looks.

Offsite tools

This page has thrown a little spanner in the works: Risograph GR3750. It's a valid tool page as its available to Hackspace members but isn't maintained by any of our teams. Not sure how to implement the template here as its impossible to not assign a team. --Danspencer101 (talk) 16:36, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

One option is have a special value of team. If team=noteam output 'not maintained by space' instead of link to team:team. Jon (talk) 16:47, 22 February 2019 (UTC)

For new CNC machine

For the new CNC machine we may have to have a separate team=noteam into two parameters

  • team=noteam -> no team linked with 'not maintained by space' text.

If there are to be tools that are on site that are not maintained. Jon (talk) 12:49, 6 March 2019 (UTC)

I think this is a special case. If its agreed to move it on-site, it will be maintained by one of the Nottinghack Teams. --Danspencer101 (talk) 12:59, 6 March 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying. Wiki code is turning into spaghetti code. Jon (talk) 15:00, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Network address

Some equipment has a network address, is it worth adding a parameter for this? Jon (talk) 15:00, 12 March 2019 (UTC)

Type parameter

Is it worth adding a type parameter to add info like 'hand tool', 'power tool'? Jon (talk) 10:30, 14 March 2019 (UTC)
