Attendees: Aaron, Andrew, Jon, Betty, Jason

Meeting aim: Solidify plans for workshops and who will run them.

Notes

  • Use some of the ex-member's boxes for storing and grouping together various things we are taking to EMF Camp.
  • Contact Graham about whether he's taking a van
    • Betty might also drive a van? (if Graham isn't). She's staying in an Air BnB anyway. ("Mansfield Van is £105 Luton, LONG WHEEL BASE VANS£95")
    • Kev's Van Rental (Wilford)
    • Get permission to go a day early (e.g. Wednesday, May 29th)
  • Ask Ian to bring in tent (or we could collect it?)

Soldering Workshop

Duncan / Aaron / Jason / ???

  • Things to get
    • New soldering irons (check edu pack from Kitronik)
      • Solder iron kit from Kitronik is £12.99 - individual soldering iron for £9.
      • Someone look for some new soldering irons for Electronics area - We can take them to EMF Camp and then bring back for electronics area.
    • Soldering kits - keep some aside as spares
      • We have a bunch of Mini POV3 - Column of LEDs which show text as you move it through the air. We'll need to get AA batteries, two per kit. We have more than 20 of these.
        • We sold them in the vending machine for £15
      • We have some old badge kits in Team Storage
      • Maybe some robot kits?

"Get More Ouf Of Your" Arduino Workshop

Jason (Aaron can help?)

We have like 10-20 Arduino Unos in Team Storage

  • Aaron get one out tonight for Jason to test (but we think they should still work :D)
  • Elegoo Arduinos (if we needed new ones) are £5 each or so.
  • Workshop Aim??
    • We provide / give an Arduino
    • BYOL (Bring Your Own Laptop)
    • Getting over the hurdle of starting to use an arduino. e.g. learning to program them to do something simple (hello world of arduino: flash an LED)
    • Maybe more intermediate? Maybe RGB LED thing?
  • Jason to provide a list of parts after figuring out what the workshop will be.
  • £20 to provide everything, leave with Arduino and parts etc.

Sewing Workshop

Betty

  • Basic hand sewing
  • "how to make a bag" (in an hour or two)
  • Betty to have a think about what to do and get an idea of what we'll need to buy.
  • Embroidery?
  • Grant for STEM projects

Non-workshop things

Joust

Need Jon to look into getting it running (may require an old laptop).

Evening Meal for people that attend these meetings? :D
