These changes were approved at the AGM on the 21st May 2015

We have noticed that a number of the points of the constitution are not as clear as they could be, or have factual errors.

For this reason, the following changes are proposed (for reference, see the Current Constitution):

Point 2.5.2

Currently

A trustee wishing to stand down part way through their term must give one and a half months notice, to allow for the election of a replacement.

Proposed

A trustee wishing to stand down part way through their term must give 42 days notice, to allow for the election of a replacement.

Point 2.5.8

Currently

The nomination windows will normally begin 1 month prior to the elections and end 7 days before elections begin.

Proposed

The nomination windows will normally begin 28 days prior to the elections and end 7 days before elections begin.

Point 2.4

Currently

All members must be given notice as per section 33 of Nottinghack's Articles

Proposed

All members must be given notice as per sections 1.113 - 1.117 of Nottinghack's Articles

Addition to the definitions

N-1 Majority refers to a majority of the trustees with 0 or 1 trustees disagreeing.

Point 2.5.10

Currently

The board shall invite offers for a member to act as Returning Officer. This member must be agreed by six trustees and cannot stand for election

Proposed

The board shall invite offers for a member to act as Returning Officer. This member must be agreed by an N-1 Majority of the trustees and cannot stand for election
