Team:Safety/Monthly Inspection

Certain safety items within the Hackspace must be inspected periodically, and a record of the process kept. This is the responsibility of the Trustees and/or Safety Team, but if you see something that doesn’t look right – say something!

It is intended that the first time this inspection is formally carried out the list should be edited to include the locations of relevant items to ensure nothing is missed.

• Check first aid kits and top up if necessary ☐
• Check PPE stock and top up if necessary ☐
• Check for unsafe storage and other obvious hazards ☐
• Fire door check
  • Presence and condition of sealing strips ☐
  • Condition and operation of closing mechanisms ☐
  • Presence of appropriate “in case of emergency” signage ☐
• Fire extinguisher check
  • Confirm that extinguishers have been serviced within the last 12 months ☐
  • Check that appropriate and clear signage is in place ☐
• Confirm fire escape routes are free of obstructions, particularly flammable materials ☐
• Confirm the operation and efficacy of emergency lighting systems ☐
