Purpose

It was noted during a semi-informal membership discussion (June 2024) that new members might benefit from some contact after their initial induction tour. McMullet (talk) volunteered to draft a generic message to be sent out after a month.

SUBJECT LINE: GREETINGS FROM NOTTINGHACK!

Dear [member], Thank you for recently joining Nottingham Hackspace. You may be feeling a little overwhelmed by everything you saw and learned at your first visit, so we like to reach out to new members. There is a lot you can do at Nottinghack, and deciding what to do first can be daunting! The best way to learn more about the space is to come in person, and a great time to visit is when other folks are around for an event. In the next month we have a few things coming up which you might like to check out: "Hangout" night on Wednesday, where we try to spend some time in the space to showcase our projects and vibrant community. stuff things other stuff/things We understand it's easy to forget all the info from your tour, so here are some reminders: All of the information you need to access the space should be accessible through HMS now that you're a member. There is a wealth of information on the space and its facilities on the Nottinghack wiki. You can chat directly to other members and find out about the space on our Discord server. There is also information in the members' guide and especially the FAQ. You can remind yourself of the rules here. Follow up messages are to be sent once a week, on a Wednesday, to all members who joined (i.e., first payment received) in the last 4 weeks and haven't been banned.

The messages will have to be sent by a trustee for privacy reasons.
