Piercing of Skin due poor lighting, lack of concentration or leaving the power on while re-threading a machine. | The sewing machines and embroidery machine do should not sew while the foot is lifting. This must be the case while re-threading the machine. In the event of injury while re-threading due to misuse of the equipment, slowly remove the needle from the skin by manually rotating the wheel. Use the nearest first aid kit to sanitised and clean the wound. Ensure that the injury is documented using the hackspace accident reporting form once you are able to do so. | 3/2 | 2 | ||
Electrical Shock due to damaged cabling or poor earthing. | Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is performed according to a schedule. A visual inspection of the appliance should take place prior to use of a soldering iron. | 5/1 | 1 |
