The heat press is in the Craft Room. It has heating elements for tshirts and two sizes of mug.
WARNING Very Hot Surfaces. The heated components get hot on their external surfaces and stay hot for some time after use. Heated items stay hot for multiple minutes. Heat resistant gloves recommended.
A manual for a similar model is available [1] and gives suggested temperatures and times.
The tshirt press attachment is about 38 × 29cm. A knob to the rear of the press allows the top plate to be adjusted up and down to accommodate various thicknesses of cloth. When raised, the heated top plate can be rotated to one side using the handles on top, giving easier access to the garment. Take care as the plate will be hot.
The mug press can have different sized sleeves attached to it. See manual for how to switch them.
The heating elements attach, one at a time, to the base using plugs at the end of the blue cables. The plugs have a polarising lug inside so they only plug in one way around. The plugs also have a screw sleeve which can be used to secure the connection. If no heating element is correctly attached, the display will show E2 a few seconds after turning on the machine.
Using the set button, the value to be changed can be altered. These are starting temperature, maximum temperature and time. The up and down buttons allow a value to be amended. The machine remembers the final settings.
The machine will give a short beep when the minimum temperature has been reached. Pull on the handle to make the heated surface contact the object, then press the rightmost of the four buttons to start the timer. When the desired time is complete, the machine gives a long bleep. Return the handle to the open position and carefully remove the hot object.
