Scrap Management - materials processed as scrap, destinations, value (or otherwise) etc.
Unwanted donations, semi-processed materials, and waste are processed as scrap by the Hackspace.
Examples of materials processed:
- Aluminium drinks cans
- Aluminium old heatsinks, scrap etc.
- Copper and brass, wire etc.
- Steel, and miscellaneous metals
When appropriate, quantities of any of the above are collected, they are weighed-in, the (small amount of) money generated being used for purchases for the Hackspace.
Materials not treated as scrap should be sorted into recyclable and general rubbish.
- Plastics of all kinds
- Steel food packaging and drinks cans
