We also need to choose a date for the next hack the space day. Next one should be on a Saturday, March 9th.

Does anyone have any ideas for hack the space day that would require materials? Nope.

Actions and minutes of last meeting:

Ender 3 has not yet been klipperised

Laser upstairs, and is now on RFID access. Dominic will be working on it tomorrow. Inductions next weekend and week, sessions bookable on Eventbrite.

Metalworking update: Arranging visit for electicians and electrical quotes.

The Hackspace rules have been updated to remove misinformation and to make them more current.

There is now an FAQ.

Sam has also contributed.

The planned Git workshop will aid contributions to this. If you want to help out there are some small tasks to do, such as fixing grammar.

Risk assessments: We are simplifying the process. A template has been defined on thhe Wiki. This helps to keep it consistent. These are all defined by activity, rather than tool (for example milling and turning are combined).

If you are in a team, if you are able to examine them and check if anything has been omitted, that would be great.

Gareth states that it might be ideal to be able to upload specific material safety data sheets. COSHH policy. Lots of work to do involving this.

Sam states that it is hard to police in the space.

Makes sense to have the datasheet accessible.

Difficult to make decisions based on this.

The only time that boxes are looked through is when members leave the space and the box is disposed off.

The current risk assessments are based upon those used by Men In Sheds, so should be suitable for insurers. They have been made as simple as possible.

Team updates:

Electronics: New soldering irons. Datasheets and spare parts Should be easier to maintain. The tips can be changed.

Laser: The new laser is being commissioned.

Woodworking: Only yellow bandsaw working. Possibility of buying a new bandsaw. Options may be submitted to the Trustees. May take a while to find something cheaper. Older ones are less well made but don't have spare parts. The blade guard on the bandsaw is broken. It is a small but non-trivial repair as it is a cast piece of material.

3d printing: Steve will try and do some resin inductions and try and improve the area around the resin printer.

Financial Update:

No full financial update

Bank balance is currently at £22280, down somewhat from last month at £26656, however there is a lot of noise in these measurements.

Any other business:

Sam mentions issues with TSB (TSB did an update which broke the scraper), and the system being broken for a week, and there might be an issue in that Matt is the only person who is able to work on the system. Highly automated system but it is really not ideal when it fails. Possible to have HMS fail more gracefully if there a failed TSB scrape? Aaron states that this should be possible.
