Residual Risk
Minor Burns due to coming into contact with a heated board or the end of the hot air nozzle.
The hot air rework station has a cradle for securely holding the "gun". This is pointing away from the user. If a burn occurs, a burns gel kit should be available in the Blue Room kitchenette first aid box (please notify trustees if you use this). The next nearest burns kit is in the upstairs kitchen in the red burns first aid kit.
3/3
People in the area might be unaware of how hot parts may become while using the hot air rework station.
Put hot warning sticker on the rework station.
2
Electrical Shock due to damaged cabling or poor earthing.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is performed according to a schedule. A visual inspection of the appliance should take place prior to use of a soldering iron.

Fire due to an unattended operation.
5/2
Consider putting the rework station on a timer so that it turns off after a certain amount of time.
3
Fumes due to flux evaporating
The rework station should be used with Electronics Extraction, especially when large amounts of flux are being used.
3/1
Add a notice about using extraction while using the rework station.
2
Hazardous Substances e.g. solder paste and flux.
Solder paste and flux comes in containers with appropriate warnings about ingestion, as well as recommendations for PPE. PPE is available in the Electronics Area (namely, safety glasses and gloves).
