Items for possible discussion:
"A Grand idea"
A kind of super-pledge-drive. Rather than simply observing the state of the back account (in ignorance of monies committed, but not yet spent) and using that to incrementally improve the 'space, we should be bold, and see if the membership can quickly commit to putting £1000 (A Grand) into the pot, which would be matched from the bank account. With the current membership (200+) a fiver a head (on average) would see this done in no time at all.
Each pledge / contribution could be accompanied by a preference for where the money should be spent. With £2000 available, we could make some real improvements to the space and tools.
Just as a starter: Planer-Thicknesser (£400), Box & Pan Sheetmetal Folder (£300), 1/2" router, table and tools (£500) - it would be easy to make 4 or 5 major improvements within this expenditure.
David Clarke. (Note - I was about to add another topic for a member about pledge drives, so I am going to add a general 'Lets discuss how pledge drives work' topic for the meeting - Jake Howe)
We need a simple process for action of getting stuff... Step 1: Proposal Step 2: costing Step 3: agreement Step 4 purchase something like that. We also need a mandate (imho) for purchase. A good one is that there is a pledge drive in place (HMS tools to manage these would be a good bonus). This is a big topic to cover in an hour with all the other stuff on here already. --Dominic (talk) 10:33, 3 December 2013 (EST)
Volunteer coordination, encouragement
How can we improve teams? Hackspace organisation? Make new members aware that no one else is there to serve them?
I have been discussing this with Gareth H. I'd like a system where by tasks and job roles can be defined in terms of length of time, duties, scope (money etc) and expectation. i.e. what do we expect of a trustee? Even if it's not very much we need to define it in a role profile. Also if someone volunteers for a task or role what is expected of them? By when? and when is it okay to reassign that task? I don't want to system to put over the top expectation on anyone JUST to make them clearer. Any system would need to be minimal management and both web based AND space based (i.e. on line and IRL comms) --Dominic (talk) 10:31, 3 December 2013 (EST)

Bank Accounts
Update on the state of the bank accounts. James (talk) 07:48, 3 December 2013 (EST)
Wall in Metal Work Area
Pre-requisite to 3 phase - prerequisite to Mill/Welder Plans/Materials/People
Laser cutter
It's been off the radar for a while, I'd like to know what's going on and re-invigorate whatever efforts there are, considering our recent downtime and the possibility of just importing an A3 one soon instead of making one from scratch. This also goes into the big funding idea, but is is already an existing thing so can't be lumped in so easily. Andrew Armstrong (talk) 13:22, 3 December 2013 (EST)
Snackspace Credit
We should revise member credit limits now snackspace has been moved into the vending machine, and our membership has grown.
