The lowdown: -

Collect together all the bits at the hackspace: -

  • Various ATX PSUs with 20 and 24 pin plugs
  • ATX sockets
    • recover from motherboards
    • 24 pin preferably
  • Binding posts and banana leads
  • Power resistors and other safe dummy loads to keep the PSU operating in spec
  • Fuses
  • Housing ideas - mounting on the PSU itself
  • a small etched PCB to carry the socket and maybe the plugs
  • switches - both mains and dc - various options
  • labelling - each supply should have some easy to read info about max loads etc.
  • variable DC outputs options
