  • Bean stew and rice
  • Curry and rice or chips

2 nights of food Thursday and Friday but not Saturday.

Tents and Stuff

Workshop Planning

10 tables and 30 chairs usually available.

Need to cover the 3 hours of non-Nottinghack events as well. Rota will be required.

Talk/Workshop/Event Name Person Workshop Tent Duration and Times It Can Charge? Capacity Notes
Dungeons and Dragons / Intro to Roleplaying Andrew A, Duncan (Maybe Gareth) No 2 game tables (10 people?) 3 hours. Maybe early afternoon
Soldering Workshop Andrew A Yes 1 hour. Morning would be better. Yes (Maybe £3) Drop in sessions Use the badge kits - drop in sessions but we've limited places
GPIO Workshop Duncan Yes ??? TBC TBC TBC TBC if this is going ahead and with what items
Morning Cafe Mike H and son Yes Mornings 9 - 10AM Friday, Saturday, Sunday Yes kinda - charge for tea/coffee Lots May include pastries but primarily tea and coffee
Mini Robot Event Sam, James S Yes 2 hours in afternoon not Friday (maybe late afternoon 3PM or 4PM Saturday?) Yes (TBC) 10 kits for robots Laser cut bits and solder everything beforehand. Actual building should be an hour. Maybe £30-40 kit or something (yes, and/or just have some loaners that people can donate to drive for a bit, could take a while to make stuff)
Tie-dyeing Becky (probably needs second person) Yes Yes (TBC) 1 hour daytime (for starting) maybe an additional 1 hour session the next day to wash it - will confirm TBC Needs some stuff to tie dye. Take a clothes line to have it dry on. Need some things like tote bags. Use some old members boxes too.
Mini POV 3 kits Jon (needs second person) Yes 2 hours in evening TBC how many kits? Yes (Need to check prices)
Draw Your Ideas for Kids Mike and Stan Yes 1 hour daytime (morning) Small workshop No
Draw Your Ideas for Grown Ups Mike and Stan Yes 1 hour daytime (morning) Small workshop No Maybe drop if there is limited space
Solography Gareth + Aaron Yes 2 hour daytime on Sunday Yes (£5) Drop in sessions (50 cans) Drop in session like Soldering irons
Arduino workshop Jason A (+second) Yes maybe 2 hours? 3? Not sure if daytime or evening TBC depends on arduinos (maybe 10) Yes (TBC)
  • Intermediate Arduino workshop
  • Interface with things
  • Libraries and importing and connecting things
  • Boards may be sold as part of the workshop

Ideas not finalised:

  • Model painting
  • Macrame (Ali)
  • Solar LED lights? - Ali might be going, maybe interested.
  • Punched / Printed card Turing machine (Duncan and Jason)
  • Board Games (needs someone to cover the tent though...! 3 hours is a long time to potentially cover)

Is there a minimum number of seats we have to fill? Definitely want to limit the number of places. Practical workshops are pretty popular.

Think about what equipment we need, how long the session will be, how many would we need to attend, etc.

Non-Workshop Ideas

  • Snackspace / Tea Urn
  • Not-BarBot - if Jason wants to build one
  • Some kind of big artsy thing (MAYBE Ali)
  • Bottle Rockets :)
